poem | stardust

when earth was first created
and everything went 'bang'
the stars that all exploded
now make up your heart and brain.

and that twinkle in your eye
when you're happy or excited
are the stars that call it home there
they dance when they're delighted.

but now your neck hurts
from how often you glance up
to try and get a glimpse
of your star and its beautiful dust.

so just look down little stardust
at the world beneath your feet
and only gaze up occasionally
as a little cosmic treat.
