poem | stop.

let's stop judging someone
because of their size,
by the colour of their skin
or the circumference of their thighs,

let's stop belittling someone’s pain
by telling them it’s in their head
or making them walk around
when they need to lie down instead.

let’s stop telling everyone who
they can and cannot love
because who they spend their time with
is not something we should be in control of

let’s stop harming animals
because we think we’re superior
and let them live their lives
not imprisoned as our inferiors.

there are so many things
we need to stop now
why do so many people
tell us we need to calm down?
